Steps I followed:
Pick the topic to study and look for other sources of data and information on the web.
Download the data and open the files in WordPad to see how big they were. Some exceeded Excel's row limit, so chose to store the data in BigQuery.
Started a spreadsheet to capture notes and analysis of the data.
Imported data into BigQuery.
Looked at the data in the tables, created 3 new tables for practice, ran range checks, looked for test ids, etc.
Chose to use R for charts. Started creating some simple charts.
Refocused analysis to cover steps, calories, activity, sleep and weight to stay on track time wise. I was having fun with the charts and I remembered how to calculate a difference with SQL.
Gave Markdown a go. Created the slide section of markdown and wanted to add links for little pages with the R Code and SQL for a particular chart, but didn't get the links to work right.
Put a draft of the slides together and then the case study presentation.
Fought tooth and nail with links working and then not working. Chose to have reviewers download PDF or Word to get best experience with links.
Looked at Kaggle for the course quiz and may go back to post there.
Keeping it simple.
